John Corso, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Corso joined Coastal in 2007 after teaming up with the Company’s executives and a group of investors to acquire the Company from its founders. Under Mr. Corso’s leadership, the Company has emerged as one of the leading foodservice suppliers of fresh produce and dairy in the Mid-Atlantic and has nearly tripled in size. In 2010 and in 2011, the Company was named one of the 50 fastest growing companies in Baltimore and in 2012, Smart CEO Magazine named Coastal one of the 100 Best Run Companies in Baltimore.
Prior to joining Coastal, Mr. Corso served as President of Santana Products, an industry leading manufacturer of commercial bathroom partitions based in Scranton PA. There he led an experienced team of executives in achieving significant revenue growth and operating efficiency. In 2006, Mr. Corso departed Santana Products after managing the successful sale of the company.
Mr. Corso’s professional career includes roles in investment banking at CIBC Wood Gundy in Toronto, strategic consulting at The Boston Consulting Group in New York, and general management at Hunt Corporation, a then NYSE listed company based in Philadelphia. At Hunt, Mr. Corso served on the company’s Executive Committee and had P&L responsibilities for operations in the US and Europe. Looking back, Mr. Corso is perhaps most fond of his eight summers working in the theme park industry. There he led a large operations staff and gained significant front line management and customer service experience at a young age; experience he feels continues to serve him well to this day.
Mr. Corso holds an HBA from the University of Western Ontario in Canada and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He is an active member of Young Presidents Organization, serves on industry boards and is a member of The Coastal Companies Board of Directors.
Bob Lahmann, Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer of Coastal Sunbelt Produce, Bob Lahmann brings more than 20 years of finance, accounting, and management experience to the company. Prior to joining Coastal, Bob was CFO/COO for Worldwide Shelters, who provided temporary shelters around the world to humanitarian organizations, supporting their efforts to house persons displaced by natural and man-made disasters. Bob has also served in key executive roles in several fortune 500 firms focused in manufacturing and distribution industries, including NewellRubbermaid, Fisher Scientific, and McDonald’s Restaurants. Bob began his career as an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand and is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and a Certified Public Accountant.
Tracy Moore, Vice President of Customer Care
Ms. Moore joined the Company in 1993. She is responsible for all customer service functions including compliance for all customer contracts. Ms. Moore has held varied positions during her tenure at Coastal Sunbelt including positions in accounting, office management, management of East Coast Fresh and recently served as VP of Operations. Prior to joining Coastal Sunbelt Produce & East Coast Fresh, Inc., Ms. Moore worked as a cost accountant for a regional processor of wet salads.
Jason Lambros, Vice President of Purchasing
Mr. Lambros joined the Company in 1995. He currently oversees a team of 15 buyers responsible for all the purchasing, inbound logistics, receiving and rotation of over $160MM in produce and dairy annually. During his tenure with Coastal, Mr. Lambros also held the position of Production Manager for East Coast Fresh. Mr. Lambros is trained in all aspects of operations management for both Coastal Sunbelt Produce & East Coast Fresh, Inc. Mr. Lambros is a graduate of the University of Maryland.
Jim McWhorter, Vice President of Sales
Mr. McWhorter joined Coastal Sunbelt Produce in 2007 following the acquisition of L&M Produce, a company he co-founded in 1979 and built to over $70M in sales. Since December of 2007, Mr. McWhorter has held the role of VP of Sales and management of a team of 17 street sales representatives calling primarily on independent accounts across the company’s footprint. Mr. McWhorter brings over 30 years of produce experience to Coastal Sunbelt Produce, with strong customer relationships in the Baltimore/Washington area.
John Tenerowicz, Vice President Human Resources
As Vice President of Human Resources, John is accountable for the company’s compensation and benefits, organizational development, and employee relations functions. John’s priorities include evaluation and implementation of a comprehensive talent management program with the focus being on creating alignment between human resource processes and policies to the business; serving as the employee advocate and creating affinity programs to make this a Great Place to Work. John has held a variety of human resource positions with Armstrong World Industries, Allegis group, Becton Dickinson and most recently Algeco Scotsman. Mr. Tenerowicz received his M.B.A. from the University of Baltimore and has been in H.R. Management for over 20 years.
Dave Zeleznik, Vice President of Safety and Loss Prevention
Dave joined the Company in 1998. He is responsible for the Safety and Loss Prevention programs and policies of the company, as well as Regulatory Compliance initiatives. Dave has held varied positions during his tenure at Coastal Sunbelt and East Coast Fresh, including Warehouse and Production Management and Account Management, among others. Dave was Vice President of East Coast Fresh Production and Vice President of Warehouse Operations for Coastal Sunbelt prior to his current role. Before joining Coastal Sunbelt Produce & East Coast Fresh, Inc., Dave managed Operations in both the Retail and Moving & Storage industries.
Larry Brown, Executive Vice President of Sales
Mr. Brown joined Coastal Sunbelt Produce in October 2011. Previous to this, Larry worked for FreshPoint, a $1.4 billion national produce distributor for 16 years. At FreshPoint, he served in various senior management positions including Vice President of Special Projects, Executive VP of Produce Procurement, and Vice President of Multi-Unit Customer Service and Compliance. His most recent role on FreshPoint’s Executive Management team was that of Vice President Sales where his team managed over $500m in national account business. Mr. Brown received his B.A. Degree from the University of Central Florida.
Stacy Ward, Director of National Accounts
Ms. Ward has been in the foodservice industry since graduating from college. She joined the Company in 2003 as an account manager who was responsible for developing and growing the company’s presence in the hospitality industry. From there Ms. Ward grew in her position and soon became Director of National Accounts, adding multi-unit chain restaurants to her area of responsibilities. Her current responsibilities include sales, customer service and contracting for National Accounts.
Prior to working at Coastal Sunbelt, Ms. Ward was a Marketing Associate at Sysco Foodservice. Ms. Ward earned a BS Degree in Business and Marketing at Frostburg State University.
